Murray Utas

Biography

Murray Utas is the Artistic Producer for the Azimuth Theatre in Edmonton and the Festival Manager for the The Nextfest Arts Company. He has been instructing theatre and repertoire classes at the Crazy Legs Contemporary Dance Sumemr Schools for three years.

Murray has been involved professionally in the Arts in Canada for more than 15 years as a Manager, Producer, Performer, Creator, Writer, Director and Instuctor. Murray spent his first ten years of performing on the road and that road led him to the Yellowknife, N.W.T.Stuck in a Snowbank Theatre from its inaugural production of "Bushpilot"(1997-2001) by Eric Watt to a national tour of the critically acclaimed "The Hudson’s Bay Boy”(2003-2005) by John Seagrave.

Selected acting credits include: Neil in “Hockey Stories for Boys” by George Szilagyi, Guildenstern in “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” by Tom Stoppard, Bogart in "The Enchantment" by Sandy Paddick. Keith in "The Whimpering Penguin by Pat Langner, a radio play for CBC’s Cities Confidential program, and the Canadian feature length film “Sure-Shot Dombrowski” produced by Western Directives.
